The Cost & Complexities of Probate
“… I thought there would be plenty of money to pay everything, as well as having some in hand. How wrong I was.”
A recent article in the Daily Telegraph discusses the surprisingly high costs which come with probate and the unexpected complexity of the process. Journalist Liz Hodgkinson describes her experience as co-executor of a friend’s estate. She talks – among other things - about how quickly costs can incur if on an hourly rate, how time-consuming it can be to have assets valued, as well as the difficulty of selling assets abroad.
We, at the Probate Bureau, do not charge an hourly rate but instead work on a fixed fee basis. If you request a home visit (which is free and with no obligation) you will be seen by a director of the company; someone who can give a definitive and reliable quotation.
